Vertical garden is a new direction for the greening of walls and facades of buildings. It is often used to decorate exterior facades of buildings, we want to show how you can decorate a wall on a balcony with a vertical garden created by yourself.
To create a vertical flower bed we need:
- wooden pallet
- furniture stapler, paper clips
- nails, hammer, sandpaper
- primer for plants
- seedlings of flowers or herbs
- film, for the protection of plants against weeds
We put the pallet in order, we process uneven corners with sandpaper. Pallet should be leaned vertically to the wall, so that the beds are placed on the front side between the cross bars. The rear wall, the bottom and the two lateral sides should be covered with a protective material, preferably in two layers. You do not need to close the top part. Evenly stretch the fabric, fix it with a stapler. The distance between the staples should be small, since this material will hold the ground inside the pallet, preventing rash.
We put the pallet face up and proceed to plant the seedlings. On the side not stretched by the material will be the top of the flower bed. Seedling bushes should fit tightly together.
Pack with the ground we fall asleep between the slats and level. Before planting flowers, the ground is compacted. The remaining seedlings continue to be planted between the slats as tightly as possible.
The pallet should be left in a horizontal position for two weeks so that the plants can take root. Then gently lift and lean against the wall. Water should be frequent, as the soil will dry out, especially in the lower part of the flower bed.
